Eat & Drink: Knoxville Cheese Festival

Join in for the second annual Knoxville Cheese Fest! Back for a second year, and formerly known as Come to Cheezus, this weekend-long event offers opportunities to sample local, domestic and international cheeses and learn from the experts about how to pair cheeses with other foods, ciders, beers and wines. 

World Cheese Judge Michael Landis is back with his expertise to help guide you through pairings and learn where you can purchase the cheese for yourself.

Looking to spruce up your front porch or backyard patio? Join in for a DIY Porch Planter Workshop! Select a design from the available options. They provide all the materials and instruct you step-by-step to create a beautiful piece for yourself or for a gift. Choose from a variety of paint and wood stain colors in the workshop. Pre-registration is required.

Due to space there is no "watching" everyone who attends must register for a project. This is a 16 and older workshop. This is a BYOB establishment.

Watch & Listen: Fleurish - A Sustainable Fashion Event

When: Sunday, April 24th, 6pm-9pm
Where: Ijams Nature Center / 2915 Island Home Ave. Knoxville 

Fleurish is a runway show with the purpose of informing our community of the ways sustainability, conservation, and beauty intertwine with our life and our future. Ijams Nature Center works diligently all year on maintaining and growing the natural beauty in Knoxville, Tennessee. Why not celebrate it and push it further?

Presented by Ijams Nature Center and Natural Alternatives Salon and Spa, this event engages the audience ways to help the average consumer make changes in their day-to-day lives that can lighten their load on the planet while never losing sight of the beauty of nature and the human experience.

This collaborative runway show showcases the outstanding skills of local hair and makeup artists as well as the works of local designers, who will incorporate sustainable materials into each and every one of their pieces. There will be a cocktail hour prior to the start of the runway event and a Meet and Greet with the designers after the event.
