This month, KMA is taking inspiration from EJ Hauser’s The Primary Forest Pocket currently on view in Currents: Women Artists from the KMA Collection. Visitors will explore transfer printing using materials like pencils, markers, and bubble wrap. Using primary colors, you will transform their drawings into a literal  “pocket” for nature treasures. Hauser’s sketches came from her experience/memories whereas their visitors are creating memories that they can take with them.

Watch & Listen: Silent Disco @ Merchants of Beer Knoxville

When: Friday, August 12th, 7:30pm
Where: Merchants of Beer / 137 South Central St. Knoxville

If you have never experienced Silent Disco before, it's a ton of fun. Once you get in the zone and realize that 1) Nobody can hear you singing off key at the top of your lungs and 2) It doesn't matter anyway because everyone else is singing off key at the top of their lungs as well, all your cares fade away. It's the perfect thing to combat the wintertime blues.

Here's how it works: Three separate DJs play all sorts of music through headphones with a switcher that you control. If you're not feeling what's on one channel, you have two different ones to choose from. It's a choose-you-own-music adventure.

At Merchants of Beer
Music starts at 7:30pm
Limited space and headphones available.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 day of.
