Eat & Drink: 5th Annual Blount County K9 Chili Cookoff
Join in for the fifth year in supporting our local K-9 heroes! TriHop Brewery and Townsend Animal Clinic are teaming up once again to host a chili cookoff with some of the best (self-proclaimed) chili makers in the county! TriHop will be serving their beers, and there will be a live auction, a silent auction, as well as tons of door prizes! The K-9s will be doing demonstrations to show off their skills!
The Blount County K9 Association is a local organization that helps provide care for retired K9s from Blount County, as well as Maryville and Alcoa cities. Once the K9s retire, their handler is left with their medical bills and daily care expenses. The K9 Association gives money to help cover these expenses after retirement. They also help fund training and protective equipment that is not covered by the city/county budgets. Currently, they are working to finish an agility course for training. As needed, the K9 Association will also help blue families in need when facing hard times (family deaths and illnesses, medical bills, etc.)
