KUUMBA Festival is back, the largest cultural heritage and music festival in East Tennessee that celebrates African Culture in Diaspora. Drum, dance, food vendors, fashion, and live entertainment!
Friday festivities will be held at Market Square and hosted by Sista Zock.
12:00 pm - 10 pm The Kuumba Marketplace will open the day's event with food and merchandise vendors from all over the world. Relish in the cultural spirit of the African Marketplace with traditional crafts, clothing, and foods.
12:30 pm - 3:00 pm - West African Drum and Dance Community Circle - everyone is welcome to participate
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Local talent showcase, open mic, and spoken word
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm - Kuumba Watoto Dance and Drum Village Extravaganza and Indigenous Vibes. Amazing sounds and movements of traditional West African Drum and dance by artists of all ages.
8:30 pm - Chinese Connection Dub Embassy an amazing reggae band from Memphis, TN will be Performing Live until 10PM!
Saturday festivities will be held at Marble City Market
6:00 pm – 10:00 pm “A Taste of African Art’s Fashion and Music” The schedule of events will consist of a DJ, live music, and an African-centered fashion show, by Senegalese fashion designer Ibra “Deugs” Fall, showcasing his clothing line Deugs Fashion; Drums Up Guns Down/Kuumba Watoto Drum and Dance Ensemble.
8:30pm – Africa Unplugged an Afro-Beat from Greensboro N.C, featuring world renowned Kora Player Amadou Kouyate from Baltimore MD, will be performing.

Eat & Drink: An Evening in Spain for Two
Where: The Cutting Edge Classroom / 150 N Martinwood Rd. Suite 402, Knoxville
