Do: Movie Night "The Princess Bride" at Ancient Lore Village

When: Sunday, June 13th, 6pm

Where: Ancient Lore Village / 7107 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville  

 

Fun for the whole family, take it back to the late ‘80’s and relive the iconic classic, The Princess Bride, with a movie screening at Ancient Lore Village!  It’ll be an evening you’re sure to remember with fondness and “wuv, twue wuv… fowevah and evah.”

Agenda:

6:00pm :: Bar opens at the Fireside Grill

6:30pm :: Dinner is served, buffet-style, at the Fireside Grill

  • Spaghetti in Red Sauce 
  • Garlic Bread 
  • Roasted Vegetables 
  • Garden Salad 
  • Buttercup(cakes)
  • Candy + Popcorn for the movie
  • Wine, Beer, Soda, Tea and Lemonade

7:30pm :: The Princess Bride movie begins

9:15pm :: Movie concludes

Try: Kitten Yoga  

When: Saturday, June 12th, 9:30am & 11am

Where: Knox Yoga + Barre Studio / 10420 Kingston Pike, Knoxville       

 

Knox Yoga + Barre Studio invites you to an all-smiles event, Kitten Yoga.

Join in for an all-levels yoga class featuring an adorable crew of (adoptable) kittens from Feral Feline Friends of East Tennessee. 

Connect with your inner feline!

Prance, pounce, play and purr through a spirited yoga class. The kittens get important socialization and the humans get smiles and warm-fuzzies from the kitties’ presence.

Family: Duck Pond Fishing Derby for Kids

When: Saturday, June 12th at 8am-1pm 

Where: Alcoa Duck Pond / 636 Vose Rd. Alcoa 

This event for ages 3-15 is held in sponsorship with Parks & Rec, TWRA, Wal-Mart, Appalachian Dental and other area organizations. Trophies are awarded in each age division for the largest fish and the most fish caught. Overall event winner for each category will receive a trophy as well. All participants receive a goody bag and are eligible to win door prizes including a grand prize. A freeplay games will also be available after weigh-in. Cost is $7 by 4 pm Friday, June 11. $10 day of event. Register at https://www.parksrec.com/special-events/fishing-derby or in the Parks & Rec Admin office. No fishing license is needed for the older kids on event day. Space is limited, so register soon!

Watch & Listen: Musical Theatre Marathon

When: Saturday, June 12th, 12pm - 7pm

Where: Bijou Theatre Parking Lot / 803 S Gay St. Knoxville     

7 hours of music in Downtown Knoxville at the Bijou Theatre parking lot. No reservations are needed to attend. Audience members may come and go during this outdoor musical event.

Musical programming will be divided into 14 30-minute segments.
