Do: Lavender Festival

Where: In and Around Jackson Square / 235 Jackson Square, Oak Ridge 

Tennessee's only Lavender Festival celebrates health, herbs and the environment, locally grown food and arts in Oak Ridge, and of course, lavender. 

Expect 130 artisans, live music, informative presentations, free children's activities, food trucks, and more. From homemade jams to fine art, you can enjoy the sounds of music floating through the square from the large Festival Tent, as well as demonstrations and presentations throughout the day. 

You won't want to miss the Tour of Gardens that takes place June 14 - 16, 2024 and the Nine Lakes Wine Tasting will be during the Lavender Festival on the 15th. An additional ticket is required for these two events.

Family: Chalk the Walk

When: Saturday, June 15th, 9am-2pm
Where: Blount County Public Library / 508 N Cusick St. Maryville

Everyone is invited to the annual chalk competition to brighten up the sidewalks! The whole family can join in the fun with art chalk and tools provided. For those needing a break, a climbing wall will be available from 9-11 am to spark some inspiration.

Participants will be judged in age categories: 0-5, 6-8, 9-12, 13-17, and 18+, with a grand prize for the overall winner. The event kicks off at 9 AM behind the library on the sidewalk along the Greenbelt. Be sure to visit the sign-up table to get your participant number for judging, which starts at 2 PM.

This free event is open to the public, and everyone is welcome. 

Watch & Listen: Vintage Base Ball - Greatest Dad Celebration

When: Saturday, June 15th, 11am
Where: Ramsey House / 2614 Thorn Grove Pike, Knoxville  

Bring your Father, Grandfather, or Father-figure for some old-fashioned fun! Join in to celebrate the "greatest" Dads with a special Vintage Base Ball showdown between the two home teams. During the 7th inning stretch, all fathers are invited onto the field for some good-old-fashioned fun!

Schedule: 11:00 AM – Knoxville vs. TBD

This is a FREE event for the entire family! Concessions will be available, with all proceeds going to the ongoing preservation of Historic Ramsey House. Don't forget to bring your own chair and a shady umbrella or tent.

About the League: The Tennessee Vintage Base Ball Association brings 19th-century baseball to life with authentic rules, equipment, costumes, and culture from the 1860s. Get ready for a day of Dad-tastic fun! Pull up your socks, slip on your sandals, and grab your father figure for Daddy's Day Out at Hi-Wire for a variety of hilarious Dad-themed games:

  • Dress Like Dad Contest at 3pm
  • Stein Hoisting at 5pm

Wells Station BBQ will be serving up delicious eats from 12pm until sellout, and you can shop dad-approved vendors from 1-5pm. Plus, they’ll be pouring curated bourbon flights while supplies last!
