Do: Lavender Festival 

When: Saturday, June 17th, 8am-4pm
Where: Jackson Square, Oak Ridge 

Celebrate health, herbs, and the environment at the annual Lavender Festival in Oak Ridge. Thousands of people visit the festival in Historic Jackson Square and it grows larger and more popular each year. Scheduled yearly for the third weekend in June, at the peak season for the herb it celebrates. 

From homemade jams to fine art, you can enjoy the sounds of music floating through the square from the large Festival Tent, as well as the Nine Lakes Wine Tasting, Featured Speakers and Demonstrations, Herb Lunch and a Tour of Gardens. This event is free with free parking except for the special ticketed events. 

 

Eat & Drink: Mozzarella Making Fun

When: Friday, June 16th, 6pm

Where: Sunago Coffee Co. / 10736 Hardin Valley Rd. Knoxville 

Learn how fresh mozzarella is made and stretched in a fun environment. This hands-on class will show you how the process is done, then you will stretch and form the mozzarella yourself for you to enjoy and to take some home with you. 

You will also enjoy prepared antipasto platters using the cheese that is freshly prepared along with locally made bread, marinated vegetables, italian cheeses, balsamic reduction, and more to nosh on while participating in the class. 

The cost is $75 per person and payment is required in advanced. This event is BYOB. 

Try: Knox Pride Bingo Trivia Night      

When: Friday, June 16th, 7pm-8:30pm
Where: South Press / 3615 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville 

Join in for monthly Bingo Trivia night at South Press. The coffee and food bar will be open. This is a sober event. $20 allows you to play all evening and all funds go back to the Knox Pride Community and Resource Center.

Watch & Listen: Movies Under The Stars - Terror in the Woods 10 Year Anniversary

When: Saturday, June 17th, 7pm - Sunday, June 18th, 1am

Where: Ijams Nature Center / 2915 Island Home Ave. Knoxville 

Ijams Nature Center and Central Cinema present Movies Under The Stars 2023 Outdoor Screening Series. This weekend Terror in the Woods returns for its 10-year anniversary. 

Featuring The Craft and The Blair Witch Project. And that's not all! FrightWorks' haunted trail will be back in full force; you may never want to walk in the woods alone again! It's going to be epic! 

Grab your favorite blanket or lawn chair and get ready to scream (with delight). Doors open at 7 pm and movies and trail begin at dark (~9 pm).

Food trucks and beer garden will have tasty meals, snacks, and beverages for purchase. NO COOLERS AND NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL PLEASE. Dogs are allowed, but must be on leash at all times and will not be allowed on the haunted trail.

These events are on the Ijams Visitor Center lawn. In case of inclement weather, please check the event page and social media for updates.

Tickets are $15 per person and include access to both movies and the haunted trail.  Space is limited for all movie screenings. Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended. Walk-up tickets may not be available.

Father's Day Fun: Father's Day Caricatures

When: Saturday, June 17th, 1pm-4pm
Where: Printshop Beer Co. / 1532 Island Home Ave. Knoxville   

This Father's Day take Dad for a unique experience or get a him a unique gift. Nicki Puckett Creative Services will be at Printshop Brewing Co. Nicki will be set up to create custom drawings to meet your vision. You can bring Dad to the taproom to sit for the drawing or you can surprise him by bringing Nicki a photo or two that she can use. 
Black and white caricatures with a beverage are $25, or go full color for $30.
