Family: Summer Movie Time Magic - Shrek

When: Sunday, June 19th at 2pm
Where: Tennessee Theatre / 604 S Gay St. Knoxville

Join in for Summer Movie Magic presented by Denark Construction! Moviegoers will have the chance to experience this 2001 family hit in a different way: in a historic theatre originally built as a movie palace, enjoying some popcorn and a cold drink. Come experience this fun movie on the big screen! Before the film, hear the Mighty Wurlitzer organ fill the auditorium with magnificent music.

Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek (Mike Myers) whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters. They were all banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow). Determined to save their home -- not to mention his -- Shrek cuts a deal with Farquaad and sets out to rescue Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) to be Farquaad's bride. Rescuing the Princess may be small compared to her deep, dark secret. This film is 1 hour 30 mins and is rated PG.

Watch & Listen: Stand Up Comedy - The Kind and Reasonable Men Comedy Tour

When: Sunday, June 19th, 8pm
Where: BrickYard Bar & Grill / 4928 Homberg Dr. Knoxvlle

The Kind and Reasonable Men Comedy Tour brings together two of the most distinct voices in Chicago comedy for a tour across the country.

MC Leitsy performs a very personal brand of comedy that has been heavily inspired by his Appalachian upbringing. Based in Chicago, you can see him at SouthernplayalisticComedy and Chicago Fight Club every Saturday at The Lincoln Lodge. He has performed at clubs all over the country including Zanies (Chicago), Comedy Bar (Chicago and Nashville) and Laughing Skull (Atlanta), and recently opened for Stavros Halkias.

Winslow Dumaine's comedy combines rich emotional depth, rustic absurdism, and the bleak and bizarre experiences of his unusually isolated Nebraskan upbringing. He's opened for Kyle Kinane, Sam Tallent, and Dave Ross, he's appeared on Crom Comedy Festival, Beast Village, Des Comédie Festival, The Omaha Comedy Fest, Savage Henry, and was curated to perform on Altercation Comedy Festival.

Together, they journey to strange, extreme, and silly places with tightly woven and full-realized comedic performances.
