In support of Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, they will celebrate Germany’s most fun and time-honored traditions right in Townsend, Tennessee!
Their FIRST ever Oktoberfest will celebrate the time honored German tradition centered around food, fun, and festbier! This will be Townsend, Tennessee’s most fun event of the year, and one you won’t want to miss!
They will expand their Biergarten to be 4 times bigger adding a 4000 square foot festival tent, a stage, 9 guest breweries, a German Bier Trailer, Selfie Stations, a grilling area and giant seating areas! You will enjoy an array of entertainment, games, and live music all announced by the Emcee, Red Hickey! Two live bands will take the stage beginning with Chattanooga’s premier Oktoberfest Polka band, The Wurstbrats at 3pm, followed by Americana Bluegrass band, Troubador Blue at 7pm!
Team BUSAR will be onsite hosting Search + Rescue themed competitive games including a Pull Up Challenge, Blind-Folded Stein Walk, Arm Wrestling Bracket Challenge, and a pulley system Tug O’ War Challenge for the kids!
More activities throughout the day will include Stein Holding competitions, Pretzel Eating Competition, Chicken Dances, a Costume Contest with bronze, silver and gold winners announced, selfie stations for fun pictures, and a Silent Auction to win a special chance to participate in the now endangered species annual Monarch Tagging in Cades Cove.
Peaceful Side Social Brewery + Craft Kitchen and Taco Bar will be operating with business as usual during Oktoberfest.
They will be joining forces with 9 local breweries who will be bringing their finest seasonal craft brews for you to enjoy. The breweries who will be onsite are Schulzbrau, Crafty Bastard, Print Shop Brewing, Albright Grove, Living Waters, Lily Pad, Founders, and Gypsy Circus Barrelhouse!
You will be able to purchase your limited edition Oktoberfest Bier Stein, Food + Bier Tickets, and get your wristband at the entrance. You must show your valid I.D. at the entrance to get a wristband. Only guests who have wristbands and tickets will be served alcohol. There will be no cash or cards accepted at the vendor booths for food or beverages. Only tickets will be accepted at vendor booths for food or beverages. You will be able to purchase tickets at the main entrance and within the main festival area through designated ticket holders.
Costume Contest Entry:
1. Where your best Lederhosen, Dirndl, or German festival-wear
2. Listen for Red Hickey’s announcement to come to the stage
3. Audience will be the judges
4. Bronze, Silver, and Gold winners receive a special prize from Peaceful Side Social!
This will be a special event in support of Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont to help fund educational programs and initiatives that preserve and protect the natural wonders within our Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Art Fest returns in 2022 with fresh, new fun! Enjoy indoor and outdoor interactive art activities from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Farragut Community Center, 239 Jamestowne Blvd. Activities are geared toward kids, but anyone can participate! This free event is sponsored by the Farragut Arts & Beautification Committee.

Produced by award-winning filmmaker Keith McDaniel, KFF has been held at Knoxville's Arthouse theater, the Regal Downtown West Cinema 8. KFF has truly become the region's destination for independent cinema. In past years, KFF has had nearly 4,000 in attendance. They screen independent films, hold panel discussions and host two filmmaking competitions.
2022 will mark the Knoxville Film Festival's 19th year (including its previous incarnation as the Secret City Film Festival).
