Visit Niota for the Fried Green Tomato Festival Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event includes food trucks, craft vendors, live music, a kids’ zone, a beauty contest and, of course, plenty of fried green tomatoes. Other events will include a cooking contest, “Tasty Tomato Creations,” and officials will be collecting tomato recipes to make a book for next year’s Fried Green Tomato Festival.

Every second Saturday on the Market Square stage is the FREE Nourish Kid's activity for the Market Square Farmers' Market.
Nourish Kids provides an opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through educational games and demonstrations and exposure to new locally-grown foods. Kids build relationships with farmers, create positive associations with fruits and vegetables, develop budgeting skills, and begin to influence their local food economy.
Nourish Kids Club is FREE for children ages 2-12 and includes an activity, a sample of locally grown produce, and $5 in Produce Bucks to be spent at the market.
