With the Eclipse coming a lot of schools and some businesses are closed on Monday. That means LONG weekend for some! Woohoo! Even if you don't get a long weekend though we have found you some fun "somethings" to do this weekend.
Something To Do: East TN History Fair
When: Saturday, August 19th 10am-5pm
Where: 601 S Gay St, Knoxville
Have a blast with the past at the 10th Annual East Tennessee History Fair! Activities include a living history timeline, live music, historic crafts demonstrations, historical and genealogical groups from across the region, children’s crafts and activities, Davy Crockett’s birthday party, walking tours of downtown, trolley tours to Knoxville’s historic homes, tours of underground Gay Street, “History Hound” dog costume contest, free museum admission, vintage film festival at the Tennessee Theatre, checkers tournament, antiques fair, art exhibits, miniature battles, traditional foods, book sales, farmers market, and much more! Free to the public!

Something To Eat: Dale's Fried Pies Five Year Anniversary Party
When: Saturday, August 19, 2017 1pm-4pm
Where: The Central Collective - 923 N Central St, Knoxville
Join Dale's Fried Pies as they celebrate their 5 year anniversary. Central Collective co-owner Dale Mackey started Dale's Fried Pies in August of 2012 as a creative side-project, not knowing that fried pies would eventually take over her life (but she doesn't mind). Help DFP celebrate the past five years with live music, giveaways, and plenty of pie. Something To Try: Sunflower Painting Class
When: Saturday, August 19th. 10am-2pm
Where: Depot Ceramic Shop - 820 Dixie Lee Circle, Lenoir City

Something Freaky: Movies in the Park - Stephen King's "It"
When: Friday, August 18th 7pm-11pm
Where: Ijams Nature Center 2915 Island Home Ave. Knoxville
As the summer winds down, why not chill out with Ijams Nature Center and Central Cinema as we present our Movies in the Park series. Pack up your favorite blanket and join on the lawn for movie night. It is the best way to start your weekend off right! Movies will begin once it gets dark. Doors open at 7pm. Food trucks and beer garden will be on hand with food and beverages available for purchase. The fee for this program is $5 per person or $15 per family. Tickets are available through Eventbrite or at the door.
Something With The Family: Fun with Farragut's Fleet
When: Saturday, August 19th 9am-11am
Where: McFee Park - 917 McFee Rd. Farragut
Fun with Farragut’s Fleet gives children the opportunity to see, touch and climb on a variety of trucks, large equipment and emergency vehicles used by the Town of Farragut, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Moneymakers Wrecker Service and Rural/Metro Inc., including a backhoe, dump truck, fire truck and police car. Town of Farragut Public Works and Leisure Services staff members as well as representatives from these emergency organizations will be available to explain how the equipment is used and to answer any questions.
