It's the last weekend in July. Summer is winding down. School will be back in session soon. Let's end July with a bang! Check out our weekly "goings on" in and around Knoxville.
Watch a movie with man's best friend, buy a charming cottage, snack on the official food of Summer, or do them all!
Do: Cherokee Caverns Presents Movies in the Cave: The Goonies
When: Saturday, July 29. 12pm, 2:15pm, 4:30pm, 6:45pm, and 9pm
Where: Cherokee Caverns - 8524 Oak Ridge Hwy, Knoxville
Need a way to cool off and get out of the sun for awhile? Head over to Cherokee Caverns where it's always cool. Bring a chair and blanket if you want(it's 58 degrees year round in the cave), but seating is provided. So sit back and watch the 80s classic about a group of misfits and their search for treasure. Tickets are $10 Adults, $8 kids 5-12, and 4 & under are free. *Popcorn and refreshments will be available. Hopefully they will have some Baby Ruth candy bars!

Well it's the last weekend of July and thus wraps up National Hot Dog Month. So we are bringing you one last hot dog establishment to try out. Curious eaters will want to try Curious Dogs this weekend. They offer up the widest selection of hot dogs we’ve ever seen, Curious Dogs raises the bar on flavor combinations! But it doesn’t stop there. They’ve got epic sandwiches and excellent brews to help it all wash down. This eatery boasts family recipes made fresh daily. They use non genetically modified meats and their cupcakes are vegan friendly.

Bring your furry friend to Ijams Nature Center for a screening of "A Southern Fix," an emotional documentary about the unique challenges of pet homelessness in the South. Tickets willl be $10 and proceeds will benefit both Ijams Nature Center and Young-Williams Animal Center!
Pack up your doggies and your favorite blanket and pull up a seat on the lawn for movie night! This joint fundraiser is a great way to start off the weekend and raise money for two great causes. *"A Southern Fix" is not rated, but the subject matter may be difficult for young children.* Leashed dogs are welcome and Young-Williams Animal Center will have adoptable dogs on site! Family: UT Gardens Children's Garden Grand Opening
When: Saturday, July 29 3pm-5:30pm
Where: UT Gardens - 2518 Jacob Dr. Knoxville .
Kids of all ages are invited to the grand opening of the new Children's Garden, a unique garden for play and learning that will inspire visitors both young and old to connect with nature in an entertaining and educational way. Festivities will include take home crafts, refreshments, live music, and games.
