Do: Candoro Community Picnic
When: Sunday, June 3rd, 2pm-6pm
Where: Candoro Marble / 4450 Cadora Ave. Knoxville
Candoro Arts and Heritage Center is one of Tennessee's most unique treasures. Built in 1923, the Center's main building is the former showroom and office of Candoro Marble Works, a historic East Tennessee company that was at one time the largest producers of Tennessee pink marble in the U.S. Today the building is an event center for the community and a museum honoring the legacy of the Marble City and people of the Vestal community. Join them for a community picnic on the grassy lawn! Bring your lunch and blankets for an afternoon of lawn games, music, and community fun! This event is free, but they suggest a donation of $5.00 per family that will go towards Candoro Marble. They also give out free tours on Sundays!

When: Friday, June 1st @ 7:30pm, Saturday, June 2nd@ 7:30, Sunday, June 3rd @ 2:00pm
Where: Flying Anvil Theatre / 1300 Rocky Hill Rd. Knoxville
What happens when a failing Elvis impersonator reluctantly agrees to become a drag performer and finds out he’s really good at it? Hilarity ensues, with a powerful message about being true to yourself.
“The Legend of Georgia McBride,” by Matthew Lopez, is a bold, brassy comedy with a heart as big as its wigs. The show’s lip-syncing divas provide plenty of laughs while sharing the difficulties, discrimination and danger of their profession. It’s a gift to the audience, all wrapped up in sequins and feathers.
The play was a New York Times critic’s pick in 2015. Reviewer Charles Isherwood called it “full of sass and good spirits — along with a spritz or two of sentimentality.”
