Great Life RE Weekend To Do List, Sept 15-17

We've had a nice taste of Fall, but temperatures are on the rise some from last weekend. Nevertheless, we still have a GREAT weekend in store. Check out our Great Life List of things to do this September weekend. 

Do: Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival  

When: Saturday, Sept. 16th,  10am-9pm
Where: Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area / 4564 Leatherwood Rd, Oneida,

Make plans now for a fun-filled day of stories, music, crafts and more at the Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival!  This free event begins at 10:00am and the fun continues past dark! Professional storytellers tell fun tales throughout the day that are appropriate for all ages. After dark, scary stories will fill the air! Crafting demonstrations, old-time toys and games, and other cool programs take place at the festival. All ages are welcome! This event is free and registration is not required.

Eat: Citico's Brunch 

When: Friday, Sept. 8th, 6pm-9pm 

Where:  Citico's Restaurant & Club / 2698 Oakum Ct. Lenoir City

Try: Homemade Wine Making Class

When: Friday, Sept. 15th, 6pm-8pm

Where:  Ijams Nature Center / 2915 Island Home Ave, Knoxville

Football: 2nd Annual Cook the Gators Shrimp Boil and Hootenanny

Where:  Last Days of Autumn Brewing / 808 E Magnolia Ave, Knoxville

Join in for the 2nd Annual Cook The Gators Shrimp Boil to benefit The House That Beer Built. Cost for the event is $5 per person which includes an all you can eat shrimp boil, drink specials, free swag, plus you will be be entered for some cool giveways! The UT/Florida game will be on all three TV's inside our taproom plus tv's on the patio (weather permitting). The House that Beer Built is a fun and exciting event that brings the craft beer community together to build TWO homes for families in need of affordable housing.  

 

Family: Free Family Concert: String Fling 

When:  Sunday, Sept.17th, 3pm-4:30pm

Where:  Oak Ridge High School / 1450 Oak Ridge Tpke, Oak Ridge

The string playing “ecosystem” in Oak Ridge is alive and well! Friends and family of all ages will enjoy this Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra concert celebrating the violin, viola, cello, and bass. All are invited to the instrument “petting zoo” after the concert to get a hands-on experience, and to enjoy more live music and a post-concert snack. Presented by the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association, this event is FREE and open to the public. All are welcome to attend!
