Summer is officially winding down. For many, this time of the year means getting outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Since it's such a beautiful time of year in East Tennessee there are so many events happening. We've searched and picked out some things we think you will love that you may not have heard of.
Do: Happy Holler Street Fair
When: Saturday, Sept. 23rd, 12pm-5pm
Where: Happy Holler / N Central St. North Knoxville
The Historic Happy Holler area of North Knox has seen recent revitalization that includes bakehouses, Tai Chi, local brews, antiques, and the popular Three Rivers Market. Come party in the street with your neighbors and friends. You'll find local music, food, street vendors, and more on a closed section of North Central Street, between Baxter Avenue and Scott Street in Historic Happy Holler. Spread the news and join the party! This is a free family event with free parking.

Try: Shenanigoats Yoga with Girls On The Run
When: Sunday, Sept. 24th, 4:30pm-5:30pm
Where: 9628 George Williams Road, Knoxville
Yes, you read that right, yoga with GOATS. It's rated the #1 thing to do in Nashville and now it's come to Knoxville. Please feel free to arrive a little early to spend some quality time with the goats. Yoga will be lead by Jess Mishu of Blue Ridge Yoga. A portion of the proceeds go to support Girls on the Run, a physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls 3rd through 8th grade. Get tickets here.

Fall is the time to plant bulbs that will raise their gorgeous heads and transform our wintry fields and lawns into glorious spring. Planting bulbs is probably the easiest thing we can do in the fall to invest in our future spring landscape. Stanley's has asked bulb expert Jeroen Menkveld of Netherland Bulb Company, a leading importer of premium Dutch bulbs from their farms in Holland, to give us the latest tips, trends, and most authoritative information on bulbs, bulbs, bulbs.
Family: Family Night: Making S'mores
When: Saturday, Sept.23rd, 7pm-9:30pm
Where: Gregory Farms / 4002b Copper Ridge Rd. Karns
Teach your little ones how to make perfect s'mores, point out the brightest stars in the sky, and have fun sharing stories around the warm glow of a bonfire. Great views, bonfire, hot chocolate, glow sticks, and all the makings for s'mores will be provided. There will also be a photo contest (more details at the event). Feel free to lay down a blanket or folding chairs, download a free star-gazing app, and pack up a little picnic to bring from home. This will be a very casual and fun, kid friendly evening. No alcohol will be permitted. Event fee: $5 per person. Tickets can be purchased here.
