Great Life RE Weekend To Do List, Sept 8-10

We are past the unofficial end of Summer.  Tennessee got a WIN (not a pretty one, but a win still the same). It's getting closer to sweater season and all things Fall. Here's our Great Life RE list of what not to miss out on this weekend. 

Do: S'mores Under the Stars  

When: Sunday, Sept. 10th,  5:30pm-8:30pm
Where: Gregory Farms Horseback Riding Lessons / 4002b Copper Ridge Road, Karns

A night of star-gazing, and delicious s'mores by the bonfire. Bring a blanket, and get cozy under the open sky. There will be an unobstructed view of the sky, the warmth and comfort of a bonfire, hot chocolate, and all the ingredients for s'mores. Take this rare opportunity to visit the property after dark, and you will see the horses grazing in the fields,  the beautiful landscape, and the fireflies dancing around in the starry night sky. Event fee: $10 per person, or $15 per couple. Paid upon arrival, by cash, check, or PayPal only. Adults, age 16 or older, only please. This is an outdoor event, so if it rains, they will reschedule for the following weekend.

Eat: Taste of Turkey Creek 

When: Friday, Sept. 8th, 6pm-9pm 

Where:  The Pinnacle at Turkey Creek / 11251 Parkside Dr., Knoxville

The Pinnacle at Turkey Creek and Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union are proud to announce the 5th annual Taste of Turkey Creek benefitting the Pat Summitt Foundation.  Attendees can expect to taste offerings from over two dozen local  restaurants. In addition to the restaurant showcase there will be wine, beer, live entertainment and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event benefit the Pat Summitt Foundation. Admission prices are $15 in advance for adults or $20 at the door. Tickets include unlimited visits to food vendors and two drink tickets redemmable for wine or beer. Admission for children 12-7 year old is $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Children 6 and under enter for free.

When: Friday, Sept. 8th, 7:30pm-10:30pm

Where:  Dance Tonight Knoxville / 9119 Executive Park Dr, Knoxville,

Join in for for a fun night of dancing. Friday's kickoff at 7:30 with beginner, intermediate, and advanced group classes, followed by the Friday Night Party. No experience or partner necessary. Group class and party are $10 each. $15 to do both.

Football: 13th Annual Gator Hator Week - Kick Off Party 

When: Sunday, Sept. 10th,  Starts at 6 pm. 

Where:  The Alley / 7355 Kingston Pk., Knoxville

The 13th Annual Gator Hator week is the whole week leading up to the TN vs. FL game on September 16th.  Local businesses will be hosting events to raise awareness and funds for The Love Kitchen! It all begins at The Alley with a kick off party. The Alley Knoxville offers: amazing food from moonshine shrimp, ribeye steaks, sushi to pizzas, and burgers. They have the hottest, patio in West Knoxville with outside entertainment, and nightly DJ's spinning the tunes. The Alley features 5 different bars to choose from, with handcrafted cocktails from our expert bartenders.

Family: Second Sunday Art Activity Day 

When:  Sunday, Sept.10th 1pm-4pm

Where:  Knoxville Museum of Art / 1050 World's Fair Park Dr. SW, Knoxville 

Bring your children ages K-6 to the KMA Second Sunday Art Activity Day. Children will do a hands-on art activity taught by a certified art teacher. In addition, free docent tours will take place. English tours at 2pm, and Spanish tours at 3pm. FREE!
