Great Life Weekend To Do List, July 20-22nd

August is right around the corner.... School will be starting before we know it. Wait.... Didn't Summer JUST START??? Time is flying by so let's make the most of every day! Here's a list of fun things to do this weekend in and around Knoxville. There's something for everyone! 

Do: Market Night in Historic Downtown Clinton 

When: Friday, July 20th, 5pm-8pm
Where: Market St. Clinton, TN 

Come spend the evening browsing the stores and local vendors for Market Night. The event will take place on Market Street and local vendors will be set up and the stores will remain open late. Food trucks, ice cream, music, shopping, pet friendly and fun for the whole family.  If you've never visited Downtown Clinton this is your time to go. Rated in the top 10 antiquing districts in the country there are so many great things to do, see, shop, and eat.

Eat & Drink: Lecture Series: "Pigs & Hickory: A Southern BBQ Seminar

When: Saturday, July 21st, 2pm-4pm
Where: Ramsey House / 2614 Thorngrove Pike, Knoxville 

Author, teacher and storyteller Fred Sauceman is coming back to Ramsey House for a return engagement. Be entertained and amused by stories of an Appalachian family, their food and lore. Ridgewood Barbecue (1948) was established by the Proffitt family, a “pork smoking clan” and their sauce. This lecture concludes with a Barbecue dinner and book signing by Mr. Sauceman. 

Cost: $35 ($30 for members). This includes a delicious BBQ dinner.

The Power of Produce (PoP) Club provides a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations with farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. In addition to participating in educational activities, PoP Club kids receive $5 in vouchers to spend on fruits and veggies, allowing them to make their own shopping decisions at the market. PoP Clubs are found at farmers’ markets across the country, and Nourish Knoxville brings this program to the brand-new Eastside Sunday Market at Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Watch and Listen: Summer Movie Magic at the Tennessee Theatre

When: Friday, July 20th, 8pm
Where: Tennessee Theatre / 604 S Gay St. Knoxville 

There’s something for everyone in the 20th Annual Summer Movie Magic lineup! Moviegoers will travel back in time and see these classics, as they should be: in a historic theater surrounded by other movie-lovers, enjoying some popcorn and a cold drink. Come experience some of your favorite classics on the big screen! Prior to each screening, hear the Mighty Wurlitzer organ fill the auditorium with magnificent music.

Tickets can be purchased at the Tennessee Theatre box office,  Ticketmaster.com or by phone at 865-684-1200. The ticket price is $9.00 for adults, $7.00 for children under 12 and seniors 65 and over; a subscription to all six films is $45.00 for adults and $36.00 for children and seniors.
