Check out this edition of the Great Life RE Weekend To Do List! While we try to find activities and events that promote social distancing and a safe environment please always use your own judgment when attending any activity or function. 

Do: 2021 Winter Farmers' Market by Nourish Knoxville

When: Saturday, January 9th, 11am-1pm

Where: Knoxville Civic Auditorium / 500 Howard Baker Ave. Knoxville 

Producer-only farmers' market featuring locally-grown produce, meat, eggs, honey, baked goods, prepared food, and artisan crafts. For more information about our Winter Farmers' Market: https://www.nourishknoxville.org/winter-market/
  • LOCATION - Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Nourish Knoxville will host the 2021 Winter Farmers' Market (WFM) at Mary Costa Plaza, OUTDOORS at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum.
  • HOURS & DATES - EVERY OTHER Saturday, January 9 - April 17, 11 am - 1 pm.
  • PARKING - Free parking is available in Garage A, directly across our market entrance off Howard Baker Jr. Ave. Accessible parking can be found off Howard Baker Jr. Ave. just east of our market entrance.
  • MASKS - To protect our staff, volunteers, vendors, and customers Nourish Knoxville will require all guests 2 years of age and above to wear an appropriate face-covering over their nose and mouth while shopping on the plaza. Nourish Knoxville will have free, disposable masks and gloves for our customers and reusable cloth masks for sale at our information booth.
  •  FOOD & BEVERAGES - All food will be to-go only. Consumption of food or beverages within the market area is NOT permitted.

Eat & Drink: Lobster Dogs at Elst Brewing  

When: Friday, January 8th, 5pm-8pm

Where: Elst Brewing Company / 2419 North Central Street, Knoxville 

Lobster Dogs will be back at Elst Brewing this Friday. They’ll be serving up the best lobster rolls and stuffed avocados in Tennessee! You've got to check them out and eat some great lobster and drink some great craft brews. Can't decide on the lobster or the stuffed avocado? We recommend you try both! Social distancing measures are in place.

Try: Learn to Crochet 

When: Saturday, January 9th, 1pm-3pm

Where: Creative Spark Studio / 2009 East Broadway Ave. Maryville 

Have you always wanted to learn how to crochet? You’ve tried learning online or even from books and or pamphlets? This is your chance to have individual assistance to conquer the battle. Students will learn how to crochet several of the basic patterns and will work toward crocheting a scarf. Class is 2 hours. Students need to bring their own supplies.
Supply list for Crochet class :1 skein on basic yarn (nothing fancy or fluffy) for scarf. Crochet hook size H
Teacher: Heather
Age: 13-99
Class size: Must have a minimum of 3 students register for class or it will be cancelled.

Watch & Listen: January Exhibitions at the Emporium

When: January 8th - 29th, 9am-5pm

Where: The Emporium Center / 100 S Gay St. Knoxville 

The Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to present three new exhibitions at The Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville from January 8-29, 2021. A free reception with the artists will take place on Friday, January 8, from 5:00-8:00 PM.

All visitors to the Emporium are asked to wear a mask and maintain physical distancing guidelines. Most of the works will be for sale and may be purchased through the close of the exhibition by visiting in person or the online shop at www.knoxalliance.store.
The exhibitions are on display at the Emporium Center, 100 S. Gay Street, in downtown Knoxville. The Emporium is open to the public Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Please note, the Emporium will be closed Monday, January 18, for the holiday.
