Weekend To Do List, January 10-12, 2020

Do: Moonlight Hike

When: Friday, January 10, 5:30pm-7:30pm
Where: Seven Islands State Birding Park / 2809 Kelly Ln, Kodak

Have you ever wondered what happens at Seven Islands after the sun goes down and what the nightlife is like? Come join Ranger Stephanie and Ranger Nate as they hike 2-3 miles along easy to moderate trails of the park and let the light of the full moon light the trails for us! They will stop periodically along the hike to try to call in some of the owls that are often heard or seen in the park. The staff will discuss some adaptations of nocturnal animals and insects as you look for creatures of the night. This is an opportunity to experience the park after the normal closing time since the park does close at dusk. Please bring a flashlight with you in case the moonlight is obscured by clouds. Please bring water and appropriate shoes and clothing for the weather. They will meet at the Bluebird Barn by the main parking lot on Kelly Ln at 5:30pm. In the case of inclement weather, the hike will be rescheduled if possible.

If you have questions regarding this program, please contact Ranger Stephanie at [email protected] or by cell phone 715-630-6848.
