Weekend To Do List - November 20-22, 2020

We are just a week away from Thanksgiving, but before you unpack those fat pants lets have a weekend of fun before the Holiday madness begins!

We are still being cautious and hoping and praying that COVID goes away SOON! Our goal is to provide you with safe, but also fun things to do during this time. How great is it that we get to live in a place with so many wonderful things to do and see!?! 

Check out this edition of the Great Life RE Weekend To Do List! While we try to find activities and events that promote social distancing and a safe environment please always use your own judgment when attending any activity or function. 

Do: 2020 Foothills Holiday Market

When: Saturday, November 21st, 10am-4pm

Where: Smithview Pavilion / 601 Smithview Dr. Maryville  

It's time for the 5th Annual Foothills Holiday Market! This event is held at the Smithview Pavilion, in the heart of beautiful Maryville, TN on historic Brown's Creek. Admission is free and there will be tons of great vendors such as: vintage, handmade, repurposed, boutique, jewelry, farmhouse decor, local vendors, and food trucks.

Eat & Drink: The French Quarter 

When: Saturday, November 21st, 5pm-8pm
Where: The Cutting Edge Classroom / 817 North Herron Road, Knoxville 

Enjoy a culinary tour of the French Quarter without leaving Knoxville in this fun, hands on, and interactive cooking class! Learn how to prepare an incredible menu featuring some favorite foods form New Orleans! The Chef will guide you while demonstrating and teaching techniques that will inspire you to try therm in your very own kitchen.Then you will sit down and enjoy the amazing meal you created in class.

The Menu

  • Huîtres Bienville, Fresh Louisiana gulf oysters baked on the half shell with a white wine, cheese, onions, pimento, and fresh peppers sauce
  • Gombo Créole, Classic preparation of rich Louisiana gumbo with crab, gulf shrimp, and rice
  • Salade Combinaison, Mixed greens tossed with artichokes, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and cranberries topped with feta cheese and a vinaigrette dressing
  • Pudding de Pain de Noix de Pécan, A cinnamon, golden raisin and pécan bread pudding topped with a warm rum sauce

Try: Christmas Wreath Class 

When: Saturday, November 21st, 10am-12pm

Where: SoKno Market / 2014 W. Gov. John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville 

It's time to register for the Christmas wreath-making class! The class will be held on Saturday and led by Anna Haese, former instructor at AC Moore. To register you can follow the link below to the website and register online or you may stop by the market and register in person. Please note there will be a supplies list provided for you and some tips to prepare for the class in order to personally customize your own wreath.

Family: Snow Tubing Opening Weekend 

When: Saturday, November 21st, 9am-10pm

Where: Ober Gatlinburg 

Snow Tubing at Ober is the most fun way to spend a wintery day! Each 90 minute session allows guests to slide down the hill as many times as they can in that timeframe. The “Magic Carpet” (outdoor escalator) takes you back to the top of the hill following each run … no hill climbing involved.

Snow Tubing this year will be from November 21, 2020 through April 4, 2021 (Easter)

Advance Tubing tickets* for the 2020/21 Season are now on sale, online only.

Sessions may sell-out well in advance for holiday periods and most weekends.
