Weekend To Do List, November 9-11
We are well on our way into November now. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas shopping/ads/decorating is all in full swing. Take a break from it all and follow our weekend guide for some of the best things to do in the East Tennessee area this weekend!
Do: Veteran's Day Bus Tour
When: Sunday, November 11th, 2pm-4pm
Where: Three Rivers Rambler / 2560 University Commons Way, Knoxville
Joan Markel, curator of civil war history, will lead this special Veterans Day-themed version of their popular Civil War bus tours. Attendees will observe how the ‘Volunteer’ legacy of military sacrifice is memorialized in obscure locations all around Knoxville. The bus tour will include hard cider or beer compliments of Cherokee Distributing Co. (for guests over 21), a keepsake McClung koozie, water, soft pretzels from Holly’s Eventful Dining, and the two hour tour. Non-member tickets include a one year membership to the McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture. For details about membership visit their website.

Eat & Drink: New 2 Knox Pizza Party

Lots of people LOVE the new South Coast Pizza in SoKno, so they decided that a pizza party was in order. Plus, it's November and what's a few extra calories the week before Thanksgiving? All you can eat pizza will be provided for $7.50/person. Not a huge pizza fan but love meeting new faces? Then, you should still definitely come. Everyone is welcome.

Big Ridge Run Club is starting up again!! Join them every Saturday at 9AM. All ages and levels of physical ability are welcome to join! You don't have to be an avid runner. This is a great way to meet new people and get into shape.

Students will create fun projects using hand building techniques such as coiling, pinching, and slab work while building upon skills. Each Class is unique and small in size. Students can focus on growing as an artist with lots of personal attention from instructor. Students make a great variety of bowls, dishes, containers and sculptural art pieces, while being guided step-by-step through all the processes from making a pot to decorating, glazing and firing. Class includes clay and all firing and glaze materials included.

Watch & Listen: UT Opera Theatre presents Mozart's The Secret Gardener
When: Friday, Nov. 9 at 8pm, Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2:30pm & 8pm, Sunday, Nov. 11 at 2:30pm
Where: Bijou Theatre / 803 South Gay St. Knoxville
A wonderfully comedic opera about love and secret identities that has grown in popularity and become an audience favorite in recent years. UT Opera Theatre will present a fully staged production by guest Stage Director Scott Skiba.
