Weekend To Do List - October 9-11, 2020

Fall is in the air and October is on the calendar! We are still being cautious and hoping and praying that COVID goes away SOON! Our goal is to provide you with safe, but also fun things to do during this time. How great is it that we get to live in a place with so many wonderful things to do and see!?! 

Check out this edition of the Great Life RE Weekend To Do List! While we try to find activities and events that promote social distancing and a safe environment please always use your own judgment when attending any activity or function. 

Do: Haunted Knoxville Ghost Tours - COVID-19 Program 

When: Various Times All Weekend

Where: Market District, Knoxville 

Haunted Knoxville Ghost Tours is a Hands-On Paranormal Adventure that gives the participant the opportunity to Investigate the Historic and Haunted side of Knoxville TN and Special Event Venues. The events include the use of Paranormal Investigation Tools and is Hosted by Famed Paranormal Historian and Master Teacher in the Paranormal Field, J-Adam Smith

Be advised that due to Covid-19 restrictions, they have decided to OFFER Private Tours for Social Circles & Families up to 20 people. The first option is designed for small groups and can have up to 6 people. Prices begin at $180 for up to 6 participants and goes up by only $30 for any additional participants. Eat & Drink: Townsend Farmer's Market

When: Saturday, October 10th, 9am-12pm 
Where: All Good Things Garden Center / 139 Painted Trillium Way, Townsend

Head to the weekly Townsend Farmer's Market at All Good Things Garden Center in Trillium Cove. Each week they offer a new selection of farm fresh produce, Penny Dog Pantry items like jams and jellies, baked goods, and array of crafts and canned goods.

Try: Chunky Knit Pumpkins at SouthSide Garage

When: Saturday, October 10th, 5-6:30pm

Where: SouthSide Garage / 1014 Sevier Ave. Knoxville  

This event takes place at SouthSide Garage in Knoxville, but is hosted by AR Workshop. Drinks and food trucks will be available!
Register for the NEW Chunky Knit Pumpkin Workshop! In this workshop, they will guide you step-by-step through their technique to make Chunky Knit Pumpkins! Learn multiple techniques to create a variety of textures and take home a set of 3 or 5 Chunky Knit Pumpkins. This class requires no needles or knitting experience! The registration fee is $45.00 for a set of 3 and $69.00 for a set of 5 and includes chunky yarn, embellishing materials (stems, twine) and class instruction.

Family: Floating Pumpkin Patch 

When: Sunday, October 11th, 2pm-4pm

Where: C.W. Cansler Family YMCA / 616 Jessamine St. Knoxville  

The Cansler Family Y is hosting a fall family event, a Floating Pumpkin Patch!

They fill the pool with pumpkins; dive in, “pick” your pumpkin, then decorate your pumpkin at the decorating stations. They'll have all the decorating supplies you’ll need, plus individually-packaged snacks for the kids.

To assist with social distancing, please register for a 30-minute time-block in the pool (2:00-2:30pm, 2:45-3:15pm, or 3:30-4:00pm). Spots are limited in each 30-minute block, and registration is free for Y members.

Non-members are welcome to reserve a spot and participate with the purchase of a guest pass ($12/individual or $25/family). Only participating children will be charged; no cost for parents/guardians accompanying their children to this family event. 

Join the Y during our Floating Pumpkin Patch, and they’ll waive your join fee!

Pumpkins have been graciously discounted by their community partner, Pratt’s Country Store.

Watch & Listen: October at Trailhead with Captain Redbeard

When: Friday, October 9th, 7pm-10pm

Where: Trailhead Beer Market / 1317 Island Home Ave. Knoxville  

Every Friday in October, Redbeard will be steering the socially distanced patio through the open seas of Americana and popular music. The weather'll be nice, the beers'll be cold, but the friendship and camaraderie will be the greatest treat of all. Stop on down for live music in the flesh with the fleshiest of them all, Captain Redflesh.
