Weekend To Do List - Socially Distant Edition

Each week we bring you the Great Life RE Weekend To Do List. We don't want to stop now! As we tread these dangerous waters many people are still staying home or social distancing and being cautious. While we wait for things to get better, we want to bring you plenty of great things to do. It's easy to go stir-crazy at home, but thankfully there are a lot of ways to stay active and safe while you're practicing social distancing.

So let's try another week of the Great Life RE Weekend To Do List: Social Distancing Edition!

Do: 13 Things To Do At Home During Safer at Home Times

Where: Welk Resorts Online

Back when we were all initially quarantining Welk Resorts put out a blog article with several things to do that we just LOVE. It may be time to revisit their list and do a few of these things ourself. FInd the list here.

In a world where we are use to go, go, go. It can be hard to find the time to slow down. Now that we have more of an opportunity we can focus on each other and spend precious time with those who matter most.

Eat & Drink: Cookie Drive-Thru

When: Saturday, August 1st, 9am-1pm
Where: 1567 Downtown West Blvd SW, Knoxville

Since the disruption of cookie booths back in March due to COVID-19, GSCSA has had to get creative with cookie sales. The drive-thru will be stocked with the Girl Scout Cookies you know best, Trefoils, Samoas, Tagalongs and, everybody's favorite, Thin Mints, along with many others. And here’s a Girl Scout Cookie pro-tip - the cookies can be stored in the freezer and enjoyed year-round. If you’ve never had a frozen Thin Mint, you’re missing out!

In the interest of girl safety, this “booth” will only be worked by adult volunteers. The sale will be outdoors, physical distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks will be worn by those working the booth.

Spread the word to your family and friends! This is a real treat for the public. Girl Scout cookies are usually unavailable this time of year. Stock up on all your favorites!

Try: Beyond Pesto

When: Friday, July 31st, 12:30pm-1pm

Where: Online

Join Helping Hands Garden Manager Holly Jones and Master Gardener and herb enthusiast Amy Haun for a fun class on unique basil varieties. Everyone loves Italian basil but what about all the other great basil flavors? We'll look at 5 great non-traditional basils to be enjoyed in the garden and in the kitchen as well.

This class will be held via Zoom. Participants will receive a meeting link upon registration.
